Record-breaking success at Clean Giant!

It’s been a busy few months for us here at Clean Giant where we’ve spent the summer cleaning anything and everything from commercial carpets to domestic sofas.

In fact, September was a record month for us – on the back of a crazy July and August – with loads of referrals, web and social media enquiries and repeat business from the customers who have used our services for many years.

We’ve had some great business for commercial carpet cleaning, furniture and upholstery cleaning, and things on the domestic front have been just as busy.

We’ve always done well from word of mouth recommendations due to the exceptional quality of our work and second to none customer service. However, the internet has taken this to a whole new level thanks to great reviews and testimonials which can be seen by anyone searching for carpet and upholstery cleaning in the Lichfield area and beyond. As a result, we’re getting lots of work through the website and social media platforms too.

We had a few particularly good commercial cleaning jobs in September including for Cameron Homes, Swift-Cut Automation, Neil Boddison Architects and Alrewas Hayes wedding venue – where we’ve been providing cleaning services for more than 10 years!

We’ve also teamed up with some local cleaners which has resulted in new jobs for us as well.

Most of our regular customers by now also know us for the work we do in the community – after all, it’s the local community that enables us to not only sustain a successful business, but to experience record-breaking months like the ones we’ve just had.

We support and give back to the community where we can and this includes raising money for the St Giles Hospice – which we have helped as one of our chosen charities for several years.

We’re now close to hitting the £4,000 mark in donations to this very worthwhile cause.

As well as £5 from every online booking being donated to St Giles, we have been raising money for the charity by speaking at events.

Neil Weyham, who owns and operates Clean Giant with his wife Sarah, is a regular speaker at a variety of events and always donates his fee to the hospice.

Neil is often asked to speak to local clubs and societies such as Women’s Institute groups, the Town’s Women’s Guild, retirement groups and Rotary clubs.

His talks generally consist of amusing anecdotes, including tales from his role as a Magistrate and a bit of nostalgia from his Reckitt & Colman Days.

In the last quarter Neil has given four talks to local clubs to add to the St Giles fundraising pot.

Removing Blood Stains From Your Carpet

Just when you thought cutting your hand couldn’t get any worse, you came home to realise that it’s also dripped onto the carpet and now its dry.

Ten years of service for Alrewas Hayes wedding venue

February, the month for lovers! This month we’ve been thinking about weddings and more importantly how every last detail has to be right. Presentation is key when it comes to your perfect day. Show homes need a clean too!

Show home carpet gets a clean from Neil

Every house builder knows that the show home for a new building estate needs to be immaculate and represent the rest of the houses that will be available to buy. There is a lot of psychology involved with the show home, from lighting to the type of polish used on the desk in the upstairs study- everything matters! Even more importantly, the show home usually doubles up as a marketing suite which serves as a hub to get new buyers to sign on the line for the houses still in development!

Show homes put the new builds best foot forward, the show home is usually a higher specification than “standard” homes. Kitchen units, worktops, carpets, lights and other fittings are likely to be at the top end of the range offered by the house builder.

All possible upgrades available will be featured in the show home such as upgrades on flooring, kitchen cabinets, granite worktops, light fittings, burglar alarm, doors, kitchen appliances, and various other fixtures like mirrors etc.

However, sometimes the show home can be visited so many times that when the house needs to be sold to new home owners the carpet is a little bit worn and dirty, which leaves the builders in a sticky situation, do they change the carpets, pay for this themselves and pass the cost on to the house buyers or do they get a deep clean saving expense?

They decided to keep the carpets in the show home in order to be a little more eco- friendly. We cleaned the carpets throughout, and restored this show house into its former glory to be the home it will soon for two lucky buyers!

Local school computer room suffers water damage

School water damage causes hazard in local school computer room.

Rain water can soak and stain pretty much anything it comes into contact with. Unfortunately, lots of schools still have mobile buildings on their grounds which have flat roofs- which are prone to leaking. Instead of using valuable School budget to replace the carpet completely one local school looked into hiring us to come out and clean it for them. Recently, we were asked to clean and restore classroom H1 at King Edwards High School in Lichfield.

This was due to water damage following a flat roof that had leaked and caused rain water damage throughout the whole class room. This class room was a computer room which could have been damaging to the expensive equipment in there.  Water and electricals don’t mix very well, which is why we were keen to get in there and complete the job as quickly as possible in order to get the children back into the class room and learning once again.

The children are excited to take part in this fun activity and gain a taster of what is required for running a business including marketing, advertising, graphic design and printing.

The winning design then goes to print and is used by Clean Giant in the day-to-day running of their carpet cleaning business in the community, with many customers appreciating these colourful and meaningful notepads and cards designed by students in their local schools. Clean Giant Neil, gives tired upholstery a clean before Lichfield local restaurant Pom’s Kitchen launches new menu

Local businesses are sometimes in need of a deep clean and a refresh. This usually has to be done within set deadlines. Here at Clean Giant we are always out working in the local community helping businesses and soft furnishing owners live their day-to-day life worry free, to run their business at a top standard. Recently Neil has helped out at local eatery Pom’s Kitchen.

Pom’s Kitchen is an award winning, family run, restaurant open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. They proudly serve food made from local produce collaborating wherever they can with local suppliers.

On Monday the 4th of September, Pom’s Kitchen closed for a couple of days to allow time for a refurbishment. When deciding who to contact to clean their upholstery Neil was selected after many great reviews and a search on the Internet.

A new, fresher image

He was called in due to his vast experience in commercial cleaning in Lichfield, to give Pom’s a little bit of love and improve their guest experience, by cleaning their dirty upholstery and chairs. This gave Pom’s the chance to re-open just in time for the launch of their new menu.

Neil was able to clean the seating and upholstery, which took a total of twenty- four hours to dry and sprits the eatery up. Usually upholstery drying takes between twenty- four and thirty- six hours to dry.

The job took a day to complete in all and included the cleaning of all of the chairs, and soft upholstery in the restaurant.

One happy customer said, ‘love the new look Pom’s’, on a positive review of the restaurant, when reviewing food from the new fish and fizz deal on Friday night.

Seemingly Unremovable Pet Smells

We’ve all been there, came down stairs first thing in the morning and the dog’s fouled on the carpet, or the cats bought up a hair ball and vomited on the living room floor. It’s even worse when your carpet is brand new and has just been installed!

These stains are hard to remove and most disgusting to clean up but most importantly their odor sticks around for a long time once the mess has gone. The Fountain Refurbishment

Here at Clean Giant we are always out in the local community helping businesses and carpet owners live their day-to-day life worry free, to run their business at top standard. Recently Neil has helped local pub, The Fountain in Lichfield, who were going under refurbishment clean their carpets after a nightmare problem; a shrunken carpet previously mishandled and un-repairable by a Rug Doctor.

Being a Pub, the carpets and floors at The Fountain in Lichfield were susceptible to all kinds of stains, such as spirits, vomit, beer and mud from all kinds of weather being trodden into the establishment. The people who owned the business, and the refurbishment people couldn’t afford to waste time on their hands and knees scrubbing at seemingly unmovable stains.

Under a strict time limit the pub needed to get the refurbishment handled as quickly as possible so they could re open and start trading again.
