St Giles Hospice fundraising hits the £2,500 mark

As a family-run business, we are passionate about supporting the local community wherever we can. Giving back to the community that has helped us sustain a successful business for over a quarter of a century is of great importance to us.

We do this in a number of ways, including raising money for charity and working with local schools to inspire young people.

For several years, Clean Giant has supported the St Giles Hospice as one of its chosen charities and we are delighted to have just hit the £2,500 mark in donations for this very worthwhile cause.

We initially partnered up with St Giles because we wanted to offer consistent support to a charity that we know makes a real and tangible difference in the area. We have personally relied on St Giles for a family member and we know first-hand just how important their work is.

£5 from every online booking goes to St Giles

We decided to donate £5 to St Giles Hospice for every carpet or upholstery cleaning job booked online via our website. This initiative has been very successful and is still in place today.

In recent years, we have also been raising money for St Giles by speaking at events. Neil Weyham, who owns and operates Clean Giant with his wife Sarah, is a regular speaker at a variety of events and always donates his fee to the hospice.

Neil is often asked to speak to local clubs and societies such as Women’s Institute groups, the Town’s Women’s Guild, retirement groups and Rotary clubs.

His talks generally consist of amusing anecdotes; recounting funny things that have happened over the years, including tales from his role as a Magistrate and a bit of nostalgia from his Reckitt & Colman Days.

Hundreds of people have enjoyed Neil’s stories, with audiences ranging in size from 11 to 292, but of course the real benefit is the resulting boost to the St Giles coffers.

We also support St Giles in other ways, such as sponsoring promotional material for the charity’s annual Solstice Walk – every little bit helps.

St Giles Hospice

The St Giles Hospice offers specialist care in a variety of settings for patients with cancer and other serious illnesses, as well as providing support for their families and helpers. Care is provided free of charge and is offered at the hospice’s centres in Whittington, near Lichfield, Sutton Coldfield, Walsall and Uttoxeter – as well as in patients’ own homes across the region.
